How to use
The name Balsam of Peru comes from colonial times, when the balsam was exported from Peru to Europe for its fragrance and medicinal qualities. However, the designation of Balsam of Peru is misnamed, since during the Spanish domination of Central and some parts of South America, the balsam was collected in Central America, and then, shipped to either Callao or Lima in Peru. This was the reason why it acquired the name of of “Balsam of Peru”.
